We've had some discussions recently about making sure you are taking care of your health for your performing careers. I came across this article on the blog "A Liberal's Libretto" about Adele, among other singers whom have had to deal with vocal issues. While in college, you're working fairly closely with acting and singing teachers - are you listening to what they say? Are you working on the exercises you've been given - both speaking and singing? Do you understand the exercises and vocalises you've been given? Once out, are you developing a team of people whose ears you can trust? You'll be hearing opinions from every area, and things can get confusing at times. Find folks you can trust.
Ultimately, it is up to you to do what you need to for your career. Take the measures you need to to protect your gifts for a long career.
